Course Outline

This nationally recognised training course gives participants the necessary skills and knowledge to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

  • Identify incident and emergency response procedures
  • All workers on a construction site in Australia must hold a White Card

Requirements & Details

  • Participants must be a minimum of 17 years of age to sit the assessment, and be proficient in English
  • Photo ID, and wear appropriate PPE (Hi-viz clothing, ankle height steel toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses)
  • A short literacy and numeracy test will be required
  • Assessment type: Theory and Practical 

Duration

  • 1  day training in a classroom setting

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with;

  • A SafeWork NSW Statement of Training certificate (SOT) on the day of the course.
  • Valid for 60 days from the course date.
  • White Card issued by SafeWork NSW
