- Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

Participants of this course will gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to respond in a first aid situation across a number of settings including workplace & local community. The course is run in accordance with the guidelines of Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. Students will enjoy a fun and informative scenario based training with access to the very latest first aid equipment.

About the Course

People over the age of 14 years are eligible to attend. Students attending the course are required to demonstrate their physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor. 

Participants include:

• any mandated workplace

• Police Officers

• Podiatrists

• And few other industries

All learners will be assessed through a combination of the following assessment methods:

  • Practical Demonstrations: Simulated scenarios/Role playing
  • Project (Incident Report)
  • Knowledge Assessment

  • Participants must be 14 years of age (Those who are under 18 must present enrolment form from a parent or guardian to accept responsibility
  • Prepare verbal incident reports or provide information to enable preparation of an incident report (e.g. first aid report)
  • Communicate effectively and assertively in an incident (e.g. give a casualty handover)
  • Use literacy and numeracy skills as require reading, interpret and apply guideline and protocols (e.g. read and follow ARC guidelines)
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of both compression and breaths) on an adult manikin placed on the floor
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of interrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of both compression) on an infant manikin placed on the firm surface

Yes, all of our courses are national accredited and are recognised Australia wide!

No. The performance evidence assessment requires participants to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin on the floor. 

If you cannot complete the CPR on the floor, we can issue a Certificate of Participation. 

  • HLTAID010 should be renewed every 3 years and the CPR component updated every 12 months.
